This is very complex. I've had an SSL certificate for nearly two weeks and only today people wanting to subscribe are told that they can't because the site is not trustworthy. believe me. It is. It is very secure. The lock is working and that was verified by whynopadlock.com I am having some other issues but the site is secure.
I have been in contact with my server, mail chimp, two tech people and pro photo and the only thing I know is that the url which is in the source code needs to be changed, but nobody can figure out how it was generated. OR, how it got that way in the first place since it is not supposed to say:
https://laurelberninteriors.us6.list-mange.com/subscribe/ - instead of "list-manage1" without the https. At least that's what MC is recommending.
There is a link here for an integrated form.
I am attaching some images for you to see and possibly help me make the changes so that people don't see scary messages while they are trying to sign up for my blog.
Thank You For Your Help,
PS: The MAB has worked very nicely for me up to now. I have a list of well over 14k subscribers!
The subscribe url is generated by mailchimp using their api. MAB uses whatever url mailchimp gives to the plugin. each url is different for each account.
Attached is the code that does that (which you can show to your tech people). We currently use the official mailchimp api wrapper https://bitbucket.org/mailchimp/mailchimp-api-php It uses the version 2 mailchimp api. (yes I'm also aware that version 3 api just came out but version 2 should still work).
I have tested and confirmed that SSL does not work for list-manage1.com. It works for list-manage.com. This is not a problem with your site. Nor the MAB plugin. It is mailchimp's problem. Unfortunately, it affects us.
The best solution I can give you right now is to convert your action box to manual copy and paste http://www.magicactionbox.com/document/integration/using-magic-action-box-with-any-custom-html-form/
Thank you so much! I had a feeling it was on their end because it didn't make sense for it to be MAB's issue. They were well-meaning but not that helpful so I was hopeful that you'd have an answer and you do.
I will pass this along to the techies. I've come a long way, but have my limits. :]
